If you didn’t get a chance to complete our survey at the post-Mass social, we ask that you do so now.
On Wednesday evening, January 22, 2014, after the completion of the 41st March for Life, a church full of people assisted at the 2nd Annual Mass in Commemoration of Nellie Gray, which had been organized by the Paulus Institute for the Propogation of Sacred Liturgy, and which was cosponsored by The Lyceum School of Classical Catholic Education (whose Schola Cantorum beautifully assisted the Mass), Juventutem Michigan, and Juventutem DC, which supplied many altar servers.
Fr. Abbot Philip Anderson of Clear Creek Abbey, Oklahoma, celebrated the Solemn Mass – Msgr. Andrew Wadsworth assisted as Deacon and Fr. Gregory Pendergraft FSSP as subdeacon. Bp. Thomas Paprocki assisted in choir as did other clerics. See the story at Rorate Caeli / Kenneth J. Wolfe for more information about the Mass.
Afterward, more than 200 young adults gathered across the street at Market 2 Market for a delightful reception, including a brief introduction to the International Juventutem Federation, with a particular encouragement to start more American chapters and to participate in young adult pilgrimages in North America and beyond. A huge shout out to the well-coordinated Sursum Corda members that were in attendance!
A big Thank You to all of those who helped make the Mass possible: Fr. Alfred Harris, Pastor of Old St. Mary, who welcomed the Paulus Institute to his parish; Fr. Gregory Pendergraft, FSSP, who is presumed to have brought in the team of clerics, trained the altar servers, and brought the beautiful vestments; Luke Macik and the Lyceum’s Schola Cantorum; Miss Eva Radel for tirelessly orchestrating every detail of the social.
Thank you also to our photographers, Jocelyn Halisky.
Thank you as well to Fr. Adam Park who welcome various Juventutem members to gather for a Holy Hour, the night before the March, at Epiphany Georgetown, where this picture album begins.
